Wednesday 31st March 2010
I promised that I’d be back by the end of March (I just made it) on a solo-mission, because Pete was in India so much. I persuaded Hels to take the day off work, so I arrived on 30th to spend the night in Plymouth. Helse drove us to Falmouth, playing her version of ‘pop’ for a workshop. It was really hysterical – but to be fair, her definition worked. Anyway, we went with a list of questions (not mine!) wondering what we’d see. It was amazing! The transformation was remarkable. From something that looked like the inside of a workshop, lots of plywood, to the craftmanship of the oaken interior. The deck also had boxes hiding the winches and the hatches… And heads!! Whinchat was looking even more boat like!
I drove back to Sussex that day, and spoke to Pete at some point. I was so enthusiastic about what we’d seen, singing the praises of the workmanship and the transformation. Pete was really jealous, in a good way. The next visit we scheduled was set to be the launch, potentially…
